Catalogue (texts by Bertrand Gauguet)

The collection of contemporary digital artworks of the Espace Multimedia Gantner (Gantner multimedia centre, www.espacemultimediagantner.cg90.net), a specialized cultural center devoted to digital media in France, developping both a documentation collection, around which the center’s public space is structured, and the organization of artistic encounters, around which the center’s daily life revolves.
This publication documents 35 works of the collection (Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Joël Hubaut, Elke Krystufek, Tony Oursler, Valie Export…) and presents the manifestations organized in the art space since 2001 (performances, concerts or exhibitions by Yann Beauvais and Thomas Köner, Jérôme Noetinger and eRikm, The Young Gods, Christian Fennesz, Henri Chopin, Dan Perjovschi, Nicolas Schöffer…).
Texts by directors and Jean-Charles Massera allow critical counterpoints to “bring up to date the forces at work in the practices and strategies of the digital age”.
