Saturday the 25th of June

The Espace multimédia Gantner presents, for this new edition of  Back to the Trees, organized the Elektrophonie association and the Institut Supérieur des Beaux-Arts de Besançon Franche-Comté, a performance by the artists Rie  Nakajima and Pierre Berthet.

cans, whistles, bowls, locomotives’ shock absorber, compressor’s lids, ping pong balls, dry agave leaves, sponges, steel wires, branches, paper leaves, plastic bags, silver papers, pink gloves, piano, balloons, buckets, feathers, water, rocks, flowerpots, guitars, Paulonia’s vegetal bells, pearls, bamboos, logs, bones, stones…

Rie  Nakajima and Pierre Berthet are looking for different ways of making things vibrate in order to make their shadows and sounds dance :  volumes of invisible air in motion, entering the most secret places, deeply hidden within ourselves. How can one get closer to the soul of things : by listening to their sounds. Eventually, by encouraging them to produce sounds and to make them resonate through different ways : by hitting, caressing, shaking, hitting, scrubbing, scratching, swinging, cooking, throwing away, blowing, boiling, pinching, galvanizing, giving up, agitating, magnetizing, dripping, freezing, connecting, enhencing, rolling, mixing, singing…
